Has anyone read "The Garden of the Lost Key" by Forrestine C. Hooker? I think
this is the name of a book I read in the early 1960's, but would like to know
what the plot is. I seem to remember two children in a garden with a stone
wall and some sort of a mystery.

First I've heard of it, but what a lovely title!

No, that was Burnett, written around the end of the 1800s iirc.

I haven't read any of these, but maybe...

"Secret of the Garden" by Gwen Bewsher (1944). The cover shows two children
standing in front of an open gate, and in front of them are a crowd of tiny
people.

"The Secret Garden" by Phyllis Briggs (1951) about children starting their own
zoo. The characters are named Marcus, Diccon and Merryl.

Scroll down until you hit "S69: Stone wall holds key to mystery" and read the
suggestions there.

Good luck!
