So, this is a miniseries? Was it always billed that way? I thought it
was ongoing...

And this is set in The End continuity? Were these characters in The
End? Or is this a deviated timeline? I see that Kitty's still Mayor
with no mention of her being President, so either that hasn't happened
yet (in which case The End's storyline is on its way) or Claremont
doesn't want to deal with actually writing her as Mrs. President...

Otherwise, I'm liking it so far, enough to hope that it stays about
the characters and a plot doesn't rear its head at all...

Is that still up? What were some of the other options?

Maybe, if DoFP hadn't been completely run into the ground by now...I
think Claremont rather liked the more optimistic tone Grant Morrison
set, where maybe there's a cool future after all, and is running with
that.

It was one of those polls on the Marvel website...there were several
options listed for Claremont's next x-project and this one won...to my
knowledge, it's always been a mini series.

It does seem to be set following "The End"...but I could have sworn
Cyclops and the rest of the people in space with Jean died at the end
of "The End"...and Cyclops is still shown to be in charge of the
school at the end of the latest issue so I don't know what's up...some
of these characters did show up in "The End" but the story didn't
really focus on them so there was still plenty of room left to do
something like this.

Personally, if we're picking alternate x-futures for Claremont to
follow up, I'd rather see something set in Days of Future
Past...because "The End" was just plain awful.
