It was one of those polls on the Marvel website...there were several
options listed for Claremont's next x-project and this one won...to my
knowledge, it's always been a mini series.

It does seem to be set following "The End"...but I could have sworn
Cyclops and the rest of the people in space with Jean died at the end
of "The End"...and Cyclops is still shown to be in charge of the
school at the end of the latest issue so I don't know what's up...some
of these characters did show up in "The End" but the story didn't
really focus on them so there was still plenty of room left to do
something like this.

Personally, if we're picking alternate x-futures for Claremont to
follow up, I'd rather see something set in Days of Future
Past...because "The End" was just plain awful.
