I refer of course to the works of John Glashan, a copy of which I have
saved from the nation by pulling it out of the reject bucket at Leeds
City Library and paying 50p for it.

Wherein, you may find such wonderful ideas as "Save the wood louse"
(followed quickly by "What about the earwig? The dung-beetle? The
bat-fly?"), an entertainment "which integrates the salient features of
every ball-game ever invented" (and 3-pound Vanadium-steel,
leather-bound hammers), and a line which I could *swear* I heard Beetle
utter as I read it:

"Why are you drawing the Victoria and Albert Museum? It has done you no
harm."

As I said, genius.

How old is it? Is it in print?

I can think of circumstances in which such utterance might be Absolutely
Necessary....

Is it better than *Musrum* for weirdnesses?

<snipped long and interesting list of publications>
Hmmm. Might be worth looking out for - seems to have been published by
quite a few different publishers...
Au Res.,
Paul (who picked up a bit of a book bargain myself this weekend - an almost
pristine copy of "The Dairy Book of Home Management" - only a quid, yes it
WAS produced for the MMB, but it's an interesting (to me at least) bit of
pop music trivia...)
