Saturday evening my middlest kid had a child!
Well, actually, his wife did all the hard work. 
That brings the total of grands up to five; and
that means a *lot* of spoiling I'm gonna have to do!
I'm up to it!!

mother and child since you didn't mention any complications.
My in-laws LOVE being able to spoil my Goddesses (who are the only
grandchildren on their Dad's side and likely to remain so. They get
HEAVILY spoiled!).

Oops, sorry. Little girl. I assume she is healthy or they would have
said something; I did not even ask about her size. This is my son's
first kid (her third) and I think he was a bit in awe of it all.
I guess I should give them a call.

OK, she weighed 7 lbs 4 oz, 21 inches long. Healthy.
Learned immediately that a cold swab on the arm is followed by a poke
with a sharp needle. Immunization #1: Cold swab, poke, inject - cry "Hey
that hurts!" Immunization #2: Cold swab, immediately start squirming and
crying "Oh no you don't, not again!"
Obviously she is just a sleeping, eating, & pooping machine right now. I
will still spoil her.
I asked my son if she had him wrapped around her little finger yet. He
did not know what I meant. I asked the DIL, who said not yet, but she is
working on it. I'm sure by this summer when we visit she will be
"Daddy's little girl".
