That was very, very close to my response. The other driver wanted her
half of the road in the middle. And she fled the scene - fortunately
*after* one of my friends got a picture of her license plate. She did
return, however, in a different vehicle. No license, of course. And
the plate on the car that hit mine, belonged to a third vehicle. Any
insurance? Who knows. ;-(

But I walked away with minor injuries. Cars can be replaced.

Although now I have to deal with Car Salesmen. (the horror!)

Ouch, I hope you feel better soon. I think I've finally gotten rid of
the weird popping and tingling in my right arm and shoulder that I
acquired during our move last fall.

*sniffle* The poor Miata! Thank goodness you're mostly okay, though.

There seems to be some of this going around. Jesse went to leave work
last night to find that someone had smashed in the passenger window.
They stole the GPS and tried to steal the Sirius but apparently couldn't
get it unhooked from the antenna fast enough- he found it trailing
outside, and the charger for his cellphone! Grrr!

And earlier in the day his IPod had finally given up the ghost, after
weeks of acting weird.

And then we noticed last night that his laptop was plugged in, but
running on battery. :-/

AND they turned off the water to the apartment all day while they worked
on the water main. They put the notice up last night, sometime after
9:30 PM- the only reason we had any warning is because we went down
after dinner to clean out the car as much as we could.

So a mildly expensive day, and lots of inconvenience all 'round, but
nothing major. The mobile glassman fixed the window, even if he
couldn't get all the glass up because he needed someplace to plug in his
vac, and Jesse couldn't take time off work today, and there's no outlet
in the middle of his work parking lot. So we'll take it to the
self-service cleaning place tomorrow to use their shop vac to get the
rest. The new adaptor is on order from Dell, we think we're going to
replace his Ipod with a Zen, we're going to end up with a better GPS for
less money than we paid less than a year ago for what we have, the water
got turned back on promptly, and we can pick up a new phone charger
tomorrow, no big deal. But Geesh!

If the car salesman treats you condenscendingly, WALK OUT.

If you can take an older male along to haggle, you may have
better results.

DO NOT put up with being ignored. My mother and I do all the
car shopping, and you would think some of these peons have not
yet realized that women have money in their own right!

Take a friend or something. Helps if your Crew can outnumber the
salesman. Practice saying "no" in a firm voice to the mirror
before you go shopping.

Salesmen are tough. Impervious even to my most hoity-toity,
60-cent-words-laden language. They scare me! (Or tick me off.
On alternate days.)

Geesh, indeed!

All I've got on my recent "bad" books is 12-odd hours in airports
and on airplanes last Friday. Nothing Dramamine couldn't keep
from becoming tragic. At least not now that most of the jet lag
has been slept off. :>

(Water off? Ugh!)

Absolutely. Although I find that giving them my requirements *first*
does tend to help matters.

I went to the Allentown dealership and they had *no* used Miata on the
lot. I gave them a list of my requirements and walked out.

Went to the Easton dealership and they had 2 on the lot - neither met
my requirements and I walked out.

Found one that did meet my requirements at cars.com and a (male)
friend is going by today to check it out for me. Fortunately, it's
not at a dealership! If this one is as good as it looks, I intend to
go over with cash in hand and see if she'll accept less - particularly
since she'd have to fill out Bank Forms if she deposits a check for
more than $10,000. And this one is RED! <g>

Keeping fingers and toes crossed.
