Post subject: Happy 85th, Erik Blegvad! (Danish illustrator, "Bed-Knob &
Archived from groups: rec>arts>books>childrens (more info?)

Born in Copenhagen, he traveled a great deal, has illustrated more
than 100 books and now divides his time between London, the South of
France, and Wardsboro, Vermont.

He's also illustrated "The Gammage Cup," "The Diamond in the Window,"
and the "Miss Bianca" books.

Especially memorable, in "Bed-Knob & Broomstick," are the scenes on
the South Sea Island and the 17th-century London scenes - including
Emelius the necromancer's house.
