He lives in Chicago.

Also a teacher, editor, publisher and musician.

series, and after that, he collaborated on 13 books for the
"Enchantment of South America" series; in 1971, he co-wrote 7 books
for the "Enchantment of Central America" series, and later, he co-
wrote 38 for the Enchantment of Africa" series.

Whoops, I slipped up. Seems he died exactly 4 years ago - though the
indexes of the last 30 volumes of the "Something About the Author"
encyclopedias don't tell you that! Typical.

I found out when I searched under Allan Carpenter in familysearch.org.
Everything seems to match - he was born in Iowa.
