Seconded. Ignore smartasses, they usually are so sharp they cut
themselves.

I'll second that, and add vegetable-garden-slug free. TS for everybody in
the house but two, ginger beer for one of those two, and whatever the

Blast - For a minute there I thought you said "Cloth free"... Well, I
suppose that puts your 'clot free' comment right out the window!

And as is a traditional english toast for the new year (To those not
from the UK):
Up your bottom. (Um - That IS how it goes, is it not?)

I don't say "Merry Christmas" - I say "Happy Christmas"... I would
say "Merry New Year" but I'm way too merry by then!<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Somebody of my acquaintance once had a scheme (alas never carried out) for
hiring a lot of Santa costumes, borrowing many tambourines, and taking to
Oxford Street in gangs of six or seven chanting to a tune I'm sure we all
know:

Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas
Christmas Christmas
Merry Merry

Happy New Year
Happy New Year
New Year New Year
Happy Happy

and seeing how long it was before the chaps in the saffron robes became
abusive...

Have some of ours - we've got more than you can shake a stick at here in
Vancouver. And we're not used to it, unlike the rest of Canada. Panic and
emptiness all over the place!

Hear, hear, hear.

Last night was magical - loads of fireworks going off against the dark
yellow snow-cloud backdrop. Hal was gobsmacked.

Barmaid, pray put a cask of the best on my tab and crack it as
necessary.
