Checker Book Publishing Group has announced July 2004 publication of Clive
Barker's Hellraiser - Collected Best III (ISBN 0-9753803-0-X, $26.95, 340
pp. full color paperback), the third anthology of comics short stories set
in Barker's incredibly popular horror film milieu. The book collects 17
Hellraiser-themed offerings from an all-star lineup of comics writers and
illustrators, including Bernie Wrightson and John Bolton, and features a
gallery of dozens of pin-ups that appeared in the original issues.

All the anthologized material originally appeared in the Epic Comics
series, Clive Barker's Hellraiser, between 1990 and 1993. Checker
published its first book in the series, Clive Barker's Hellraiser -
Collected Best (ISBN 0-9710249-2-8, $21.95) to considerable critical
acclaim and commercial success in June 2002, followed by Clive Barker's
Hellraiser - Collected Best II (ISBN 0-9710249-7-9, $19.95) in July 2003.

Among the short stories here are: Matrix creator Larry Wachowski's
"Closets" with art by Miran Kim; Jan Strnad's "The Warm Red" illustrated
by the great Bernie Wrightson; and "Angels to Some, Demons to Others"
written and illustrated by John Bolton.

Clive Barker was a best-selling horror novelist even before his film
Hellraiser became a runaway hit and made him a household name.

Checker Book Publishing Group was established in 2000 to bring the
absolute best of dormant, unpublished, and underpublished serial comics
material back to print. A private concern, Checker fabricates complete,
durable and affordable cartoon trade books for sale to such comic shops,
bookstores and libraries as may require them for resale or public
archiving. These endeavors are pursued with stalwart vigor by certain
residents of Dayton, Ohio, in which city the press maintains its offices.
