Your card arrived today! Some of the ink was slightly 'blurred' on the
envelope due to ice/snow/rain storm today.
When I went out this morning the wooden steps and concrete sidewalk were
slickery as...snot! About 3 mm of ice from freezing rain, plus a light
layer of fresh rain - nice low friction wet ice. The roads were OK on
the way to work but got much worse as the day progressed; schools
closed, traffic snarls, the works (or not works??).

Got home today and my spouse informed me that the teenage son was sick
with flu. I asked if he needed to go to the doctor (since he *hates*
going to the doctor). About 10 minutes later he came down and asked to
go to the doctor - he needed a note for work that he was scheduled for
tonight. He really is sick though, with classic symptoms of the
whatever-is-going-around 'flu'.
