Hello everyone!
I was wondering if you can help me finding out the real names of few
characters from the book "Hollywood".
In particular, I'd like to know the real name of Francoise Racine, the
actor friend of Jon Pinchot and Victor Norman, the writer that goes to
the Friedman's b-day party along with Chinaski.
Thanks, ^_^

Sean Penn, Dennis Hopper, Faye Dunaway, Mickey Rourke and Frank
Stallone are the actors in the book who are given pseudonyms. Hopper
is the idiot with a fake laugh and jangling chains.
The producers are Golan and Globus, makers of crass and cheap movies.
As for Norman, I don't remember, but it could be that self-publicising
cry-baby Norman Mailer.
Pinchot was, I think, Barbet Schroeder, the director, who has gone on
to make many a film.
Read the book again!<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ --> >> Stay informed about: Question about "Hollywood" |

Thanks.
I knew about Sean Penn, Faye Dunaway, Schroeder and Mikey Rourke. I
wasn't sure about Dennis Hopper and didn't know about Frank Stallone (is
he Lenny Fidelio in the book, right?).
Still, I'm really curious about the real name of Francoise Racine, the
drunk gambling-addicted french actor, friend of Schroeder.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ --> >> Stay informed about: Question about "Hollywood" |

Not sure actually, but Stallone was the bartender in the film who
fought Hank in the "alley". Maybe I'm mixing up the book and the
movie.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ --> >> Stay informed about: Question about "Hollywood" |

In "Hollywood", Buk is Hank Chinaski. Francoise Racine is a french actor
(drunk but not as much as Buk ^_^) with an insane passion for the
"roulette". Later in the book, Racine and Pinchot (Schroeder) rent a
flat in the black ghetto and they raise some chickens in their garden.
Racine is a really weird character, I believe this character is inspired
to a real french actor friend of Schroeder, but I can't find out his
real name.
There's another character in the book apparently inspired to a famous
Hollywood director: his name in the book is Hector Blackford (Robert
Redford?).

======
That would be Taylor Hackford, documentarian who later became a
Hollywood director of some note.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ --> >> Stay informed about: Question about "Hollywood" |
