On Sept 3 I emailed this to Anne via her website but haven't got a reply
yet.
"Hi Anne,
I am glad that you are no longer in NO and was spared living through what
just happened.
I am sure that it upsets you to know that a lot of your memories are under
water or damaged, at best. I hope that all the people you know are safe.
Do you know if the house on First got damaged much? I hope not, as much for
your sake as for the people's who just bought it from you. When I visited NO
in 1992 (I was there at the same time as Hurricane Andrew) I took two
pictures of your house.
I am glad that I got to experience NO before this hurricane and have
memories and pictures of the way it was. I'm not sure how much of the French
Quarter will end up staying original or anything else for that matter and it
saddens me. On the news we see a lot of great architecture reduced to
rubble.
Take care,"
