Most likely, it was published before 1975.
The first two pigs don't get eaten up - they just run away and never
appear again. The pictures look like the work of a certain MAD
Magazine artist - in bright colors. (Not Don Martin, Al Jaffee, or
Sergio Aragones, I can assure you.) When the second pig asks for the
twigs, the man says: "Gladly, but do you really think a house of twigs
will be strong enough?" "Of course!" said the foolish pig.

I forgot to mention: this one first appeared in the mid-1960s >> Stay informed about: ID this edition of "The Three Little Pigs"? |

I don't know what makes you say that - according to Abebooks.com, Jon
Scieszka's book was published in 1989. Not to mention that the pigs DO
get eaten, IIRC.
Again, the one I'm thinking of is more than 30 years old. (Lane
Smith's illustrations don't exactly remind me of old MAD
illustrations, either!)

James Marshall? Depends on which Mad Mag artist you're thinking of, too.

What use was it having all that money if you could never sit still
