OFFERED BY VISVESVARAYA TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY (VTU)
ADMISSIONS TO 4TH BATCH - 2008-09


Thanks to huge investments, major private sector participation and
paradigm shifts, 'Infrastructure' is all set to become the most
happening sector of the Indian economy. Be it physical, social,
economic or environmental infrastructure, the demand for holistically
trained professionals is becoming unprecedented. In response to this
growing sectoral demand for domain-ready professionals, Karnataka's
prestigious Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) is offering a
comprehensive dual-option PG Programme, through the School of
Management for Infrastructure and Development Strategies - India
(MINDS), at Bangalore. Called PGDIM UPGRADABLE TO MBA IN
INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGEMENT, this unique programme leads to PG Diploma
in Infrastructure Management (PGDIM), at the end of the first year,
and MBA Degree in Infrastructure Management, at the end of the second
year. Both the PG Diploma and the MBA Degree are awarded by the VTU.

This innovative programme has 100% PLACEMENT RECORD and involves
opportunities for paid Corporate Exposure & Learning (CEL) project
internships besides sound theoretical grounding. MINDS alumni (2005-06
and 2006-07 batches) are now working for or have had their CEL
internships at respected infrastructure organizations like Afcons,
DLF, GMR, IDECK, IL&FS, Kristal Group, L&T, Mahindra, Soma, TCE, UN-
Habitat and Wipro. Besides, others such as SREI, Shobha, Birla 3M,
Reliance, Tata Projects, MN Dastur and SPML have evinced keen interest
in the programme during the current academic year (2007-0Cool. The
salaries drawn range from Rs.3 to 12 lakh per annum.

The PGDIM is open to Graduates in all branches of Engineering and
Architecture as well as Post-Graduates in Arts, Humanities and
Physical & Natural Sciences, with minimum 50% marks in aggregate (45%
for SC/ ST candidates). The selection is based on past academic
performance and performance in Group Discussion (GD) & interview. The
fee for the PGDIM-level first year is Rs. 1,90,000/-, including the
costs of a blazer & laptop, and refundable caution deposit of Rs.
10,000/-
