Hey, all!

I learned yesterday that Jasta is in the hospital. Apparently, she
collapsed. Turned out her gall bladder needed to be removed, which has
now occurred. Due to other issues, it had to be the older-fashioned
kind of surgery, not laparoscopy.

I have a phone # and room #, but I think I'd prefer not to post them in
a public forum. Please ask, though. And remember, she's here on the
East Coast (for time zone stuff).

Talked to her briefly on the phone at the hospital yesterday. She'll
be on sick leave from work for about two weeks. She's still in some
pain, and her voice didn't sound too robust, but said she was feeling
better daily, and that she'd managed to get up and out of bed for
several hours yesterday. She had the good fortune to be among
medically knowledgeable people at the time she collapsed, and they got
her the help she needed fast.

So if you're going to collapse in pain, be sure to do it around
medical people!

She may even be hanging around the newsgroup by now. I do have an update
from her -- by her! -- and I thought I'd check in with her to see if
it's okay to post it here (there's a confidentiality issue involved as
she posted that note to a private e-list... sorry, guys. Ethics).
