Apparently this newsgroup is now so ignored that it's failed to take
notice of the passing of one of the best writers the Star Trek line has
ever known.

John M. "Mike" Ford died last weekend at the age of 49. Mike had been
in poor health for some time. A few years ago, he underwent a kidney
transplant, which unfortunately did not help him for very long.

Mike's Star Trek novels include "The Final Reflection" and "How Much
for Just the Planet?" In particular, "The Final Reflection" is rightly
regarded as among the very best of the entire line.

Mike is survived by his wife, Else Matheson.
