Keef by Coakley...anybody know the book?

I just found an odd little early drug novel called KEEF: A LIFE STORY
IN NINE PHASES. published in 1897. Looks like a 'love affair' with
hashish. I was surprised to find only one copy listed at a very high
price...(well for me it's high).

Anybody have any experience with early drug/psychedelia...I mean pre
1960's stuff? I know that some of the ethnobotany/shamanistic things
could be valuable, but what about the musings of a Victorian era pot
smoker...something between De Quincy and Timothy Leary....

Any thoughts on this?
