KEN KESEY CELEBRATION ***
talk & booksigning for "Ken Kesey's Jail Journal" - November 19, 7 pm
Join Ed McClanahan, Zane Kesey, and various ex-Merry Pranksters (who
will be travelling from Oregon on the bus "Further") for a celebration
of the life and work of Ken Kesey.
Two new books will debut: "Kesey's Jail Journal" is an oversized,
richly illustrated work that Kesey began in the late 1960's while
serving time in the San Mateo County Jail. Also just out is "Spit in
the Ocean #7," a special tribute issue with contributions from Hunter
S. Thompson, Tom Wolfe, Larry McMurtry, Gus Van Sant and others.
Ken Kesey is the author of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" and
"Sometimes a Great Notion." Ed McClanahan's friendship with Kesey
began in the early 1960's, when both were part of the Stanford
community of writers. McClanahan (who wrote the introduction to
"Kesey's Jail Journal" and edited "Spit in the Ocean #7") is a writer
whose books include "Famous People I Have Known." Zane Kesey is the
son of Ken Kesey.
