'Kingdom Hospital' is showing on TV in New Zealand just now. Can anyone
tell me how many episodes there are altogether? We are up to number 5
so far (one hour episodes).

Episode 1 and 13 were two hours, 2-12 were one hour.

Thanks, Bev.
Also, while I'm talking to you, I just finished 'The Road to the Dark
Tower', and I thought it was excellent. It gave a great feel for the
'big picture' view of the whole saga. I'm a bit lost now, with no more
Dark Tower to look forward to. I read the first section of it in 1978,
when it first appeared in F & SF, so it's been a while!
Thanks for publishing your book in e-book form, since that's the way I
read most things these days. And that might be the answer to your
wondering how Eddie could carry all SK's books across Mid-World
(endnote 8, chapter Cool. Though he might have had trouble finding
electric outlets to recharge his reader!
Anyway, thanks again for you reply, and for writing a great book.

And thank you for your comments. I always appreciate it when someone not
only likes my book but takes time out of a busy day to tell me so. That's a
good idea for Eddie, but Nigel seems to have been surprisingly technophobic
(given his own technological status) and had only the hardcopy books on his
shelves, not the eVolumes.

Thanks for passing that comment from your co-worker along, Thom. I haven't
heard that there are any plans in the works for an audio version of ROAD.
I'm not sure how it could be done technically with all the footnotes, which,
to me, contain some of the more interesting tidbits of information. Maybe it
could be done like Blaine the mono, with Big Blaine reading the main text
and Little Blaine piping in to interject the footnotes.

The appendices would be terribly boring in audio, I think!
