What has Kitty been up to?

Is Kitty actually going to be allowed to graduate or will she simply
join the long list of Marvel college drop-outs? Was their any
indication as to exactly what her field of study/major was--or how
advanced a degree she was seeking? I know at one time she was pretty
much regarded as the child genius/prodidy type especially IIRC
concerning computers, electronics and that sort of thing.

Yep. She was. She is also making an appearance in more recent
issues of Extreme X-Men.

Honestly, I don't know how she's found the time for college lately. For
being "retired," she's certainly been around a lot.

What comics has she been in since the Mekanix mini?? I think she was
in a issue or two of X-Treme that I have. But beyond that I am unsure.
I think she is going to be a regular in Astonishing X-Men.

Yup, she was the hardware whiz, she and Doug got on so well because he could
program her tech better than anyone else, including her. Since he is no
longer with us, she's become, seemingly, a programming whiz too.

The aforementioned GLMK II arc, and the most recent issue of X-Treme.
I'm sure she can fit time for college, but I doubt that I could have been
on call for *any* adventures while I was in college.

Pshaw, she's in first year. I rarely ever turned up for college in my freshman
year. While my "adventures" rarely featured superpowered individuals, I did
have many.

Agree, which would mean she'd have an even heavier coarse load. The
class she was taking in MechaniX certainly wasn't a walk in the park.
That was very advanced.

Ms Pryde was drawn into the GLMK2 storyline by William Stryker who
abducted her out of the bar she in which she was working when last we
saw her in Mechanix. At storylines conclusion, Kitty seemed intent on
staying in Chicago among the people and was toying with the idea of
running for a vacant Alderman position.
Pretty sure Kitty's appearance in the post-Invasion and pre-Schism
issues of Xtreme also followed the Mechanix series where she was
firmly and vocally anti-segregation of mutants (even voluntary, which
is how she came to view Xaviers) and opposed Jean Grey's assertion
that "this is the best way" as Jean tried to recruit the Xtreme team
back into Xavier's fold.
Kitty had a very strong offpanel presence in the current volume of NEW
MUTANTS as she figured into Karma's decision to leave Chicago, as a
result of a seeming rift created between the 2 characters regarding
sexuality and romantic tension/chemistry.
Kitty is currently quoting "Everytime I think I'm out, they pull me
back in" to comic effect in the "Prisoner of Fire" arc in Xtreme.

Plus, she was on some kind of probation that meant she pretty much couldn't
miss any classes. But really, how much time's she had off? A few days for
God Loves Man Kills II, and that's it, really.

Hmm...I seriously hope this is covered when Kitty returns to Xavier's,
especially if Karma is still going to be there.

Interactions with Karma might lead in the same direction
