You beat me to the subject line, teiladnam.

Maybe Kurt is having the last laugh as he enters St. Peter's Gate!
Wouldn't that be a hoot!? If Kurt ain't allowed in, I don't want to
go, either.

Seriously... Kurt, I love you. You are loved by so many.
You gave entertainment and food for thought to so many of us, for so
many years. My thoughts are with you, wherever it is you have gone.
You will, however, be here for eternity, or at least until people no
longer read, whichever comes first. As long as people read, or watch
movies ("Mother Night" is great!) you will live on. You will certainly
live on in my mind until I have followed you to wherever it is you
have gone.

Thank you for all those words you wrote. I will miss your new articles
and interviews and books, but I will be re-reading the old ones again
and again.

I wish I could think of something really pithy to say, but right now
I'm just all pithed out.

Goodbye, funny man!

God Bless You, Mr. Vonnegut!

Love the title of the thread!

Whether Vonnegut is in the Turkey Farm or wherever, I know that he
made this world a better place. I had the chance to hear him speak in
1988 at my old university. It was great! Loved the books, especailly
the last one, "A Man Without a Country".

Cheers!

Jay

He was my great discovery in America.
First, a friend of main gave me to read "Cat Cradle".
Then years later, I would read almost everything of Vonnegut I would find in
libraries and internet. He influenced a lot on my mind. I feel him like a
good friend. I think he is one of those that remains in great literature
world forever. When I had an option to select primary care doctor in Mass
General I was excited to know that his son works there and I can get him,
but I was told he was pediatrician Smile

Peace upon you, dear Kurt Vonnegut!

Kurt,
Thank you for your warm, funny insight, thanks for you influence on my life,
it's been a blast. I thrilled over the years at hearing your commentary on
the nature of life, love and happiness. This new chapter in your story is a
sad one, you will be missed terribly. "So it goes"

Thank you to the librarian in my 7th grade year who introduced me to you.

Adios, Papa Kurt. You made my silly, awkward adolescence a little more
bearable. And my adulthood more so.

I love Kurt Vonnegut and I always will. I am addicted to his books. They are a
constant revelation. I wasn't expecting him to write another book, but now....

So it goes.

"The most important thing I learned on Tralfamadore was that when a person
dies he only appears to die. He is still very much alive in the past, so it is
very silly for people to cry at his funeral. All moments, past, present
and future, always have existed, always will exist. "

“When a Tralfamadorian sees a corpse, all he thinks is that the dead person is
in a bad condition in that particular moment, but that same person is just fine
in plenty of other moments. Now, when I myself hear that somebody is dead, I
simply shrug and say what the Tralfamadorians say about dead people, which is
'So it goes.'”
