Hey guys, I have just started reading King Of Foxes for the first time (am
about ten pages in) and have happened upon the name of this Magician quite a
few times now.
Now if im not mistaken it said somewhere that he battled Pug or something
like that. Now I just finished reading the Krondor Series and the only dark
magician I know is Sidi (the one who serves the Nameless One). Who is this
Leso varens then? Cause Pug didn't battle Sidi and I don't remeber reading
him battling any Dark Magician. I havent read PotB, Honored Enemy, Murder In
Lamut Or the Kelewan Series (empire series) yet. Is this character perhaps
in those books??
Also, Hilda in Krondor: Tear of the Gods...is she Arch-Indar???
Thanks,
Phil >> Stay informed about: Leso Varens?!? |

I was under the impression that Varens /was/ Sidi. And I believe that
there was some sort of confrontation between either Pug and Sidi or one
of Pug's minions and Sidi.
YMMV. It's been a while since I read the books. I generally put off
re-reads until I have the new book in hand.

Don't forget that King Of Foxes is set some time after the end of the
Serpent War. A lot of things have happened in the time between these two
series which are hinted at in Talon / King / Exiles Return.
> Also, Hilda in Krondor: Tear of the Gods...is she Arch-Indar???
Well ........ It could be ........ I guess we'll have to wait until Ray
writes the book that let's know for certain.

IAWTP.
Spoiler space
As with Shadow of a Dark Queen I wasn't sure whether I could get into the
main character, having a shady background and all but once the story got
going I really enjoyed this book although I did see the ending coming from a
mile off! (both Kaspar joining the CoS and there being a whole shedload of
Talnoys hidden away - just hope we eventually find out who planted them
there and why).
Can't wait for the next one now!
Anyone know why the next one isn't going to be a CoS series book. Is the
ongoing story being expanded past 2 books and therefore qualifies as its own
series?<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ --> >> Stay informed about: Leso Varens?!? |

Ray has made the following statements:
" Ya, it's going to get nasty in the next three books."
and ...
"Yes, another trillogy. The Darkwar Saga begins with the next book."
[ Note: Amazon.co.uk list this as COS book 4 - But I'm sure they'll sort it
out in the end B.R. ]
"The Conclave leads up to the third riftwar, the Darkwar."
< FX> Fingernails bitten down to the knuckles </FX>
"Currently I'm working on Agent of Madness (working title, almost
certain to change), book one in the Darkwar Saga. To be followed by Into
A Dark Realm, and Wrath of a Mad God."
Hmm, time to up the limit on the credit card .......

I'm pretty sure that its clearly indicated in Tear of the Gods, although it
may have only happened in the game (RtK) and not the book.

Hmmm...wasn't i shocked to find Tal had killed Leso at the end of the book!
And also sending kaspar down to Novindus should make exile's return all the
more interesting...
What is this Darkwar Saga gonna be about???
I am in South Africa and trying to get books here is a mission and a
half...what good site could I use to get books delivered quickly???
Thanks,.

Conclave series is the setup for the Darkwar saga, mostly Exile's Return
from what I understand.
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.amazon.co.uk" target="_blank">www.amazon.co.uk</a> would be the place to get books asap.

This seems likely as in the latest book - Exiles Return
SPOILER SPACE
When Kasper is in the Pavillion of the Gods he meets someone called Hildy
who is Arch-Indar the lost God.
