Post subject: LewisandTolkien.com - New Website.
Archived from groups: rec>arts>books>tolkien (more info?)

Hey folks,

We've just setup a new website over the course of the last two weeks.

LewisandTolkien.com promises to be a valuable resource for those interested
in the relationship between the two renowned authors. The content is a bit
slim so far as the site went live about a week and a half ago.

Some fans of Tolkien may know that he and CS Lewis were friends. This site
will focus on the works of both authors (and of course the LOTR movies), as
well as their relationship and their possible influence on each other.

The site has a dual purpose. Within the forums is a hidden section for the
students of a local college course that focuses on both authors. The
students will be there for course materials, while also hopefully getting
some valuable information from the Internet community - and vice versa. The
first offering of the course will be this coming summer. We hope to have the
start of a community before the students arrive.

The professor of the course also visits the site daily - adding content and
responding to questions (rcosta).

I hope you'll come to visit. We need a helping hand from the
Tolkien/Internet community to get the site off the ground.

Regards,
Patrick.
