Probably a silly question, but ... I checked a book out
of the library (Blood Dance by Joe R. Lansdale, if you
absolutely must know) that shows an original price tag
of $400.00 on the rear dust cover. In the front , it is signed
by the author and has a number indicating it is one of some
1000 limited and numbered copies. Apparently there are
some 18 'lettered copies' around somewhere also, but I
don't know what that means.

So, my question (aside from whatever moral issues may
be invoved) is whether this book might in fact have a value
of $400.00 or, more likely, it's only a library book for God's sake,
get serious!

The $400 price is for the lettered edition. If you look at the front
flap of the book (assuming it's intact), you'll notice a price of $40.
An Ex-Library copy would be worth considerably less than that.

"$400.00? What a rip-off! I'll sign it for just $200.00, just for you."
