positive, constructive suggestions not only accepted, but encouraged!
I'll second Brian's encouraging remark that they do make more sense if
your read the book. After all, how do you describe a complete plot and
resolution in five lines, while (attempting to) maintain poetic and
metre integrity?
Brian's suggested improvements have been very helpful!
I have to find the exact quote, but... "I reserve the right to
disregard any criticism or suggestions I do not agree with." -- Isaac
Asimov (to paraphrase, I think)
by the way, I had another thought from Peter's "picky" comments, above.
His question on the word meant my "entymology"
--- "etymology" meaning word origin and derivation
or --- "entomology" meaning the study of insects
actually, his question was very valid in that both could work within
the context of the line.
I could claim that my mistake was intentional and meant as a pun, but
(***sigh***) it wasn't.
Etymology seems to fit better with the book (as to the derivation of
the scientific terminology)
Metre and rhyme... ("scanning")
I AM trying, but often not succeeding. Brian is very helpful there.
I did state at the beginning, that metre wasn't a priority, but I think
I'm improving as I go.
I do have several more written in rough form (I need to keep well ahead
of my posting) but still need work in that area.
There may even be occassion of intentional deviation from form. For
the full effect of the book.
