This is a full-length portrait of Abraham Lincoln that was almost a century
in the writing. Lincoln's life has been analyzed in detail over the years by
great scholars and biographers. Paul Angle has drawn from all the previous
works to make a new, unique portrait of Lincoln. One hundred and
seventy-nine passages and Angles running comment blend to form an
interesting biography. Illustrated with B&W photos. A book club edition,
with a book club synopsis laid in.

Rutgers University Press, New Brunswick NJ, 1947, book club edition, 564
pages, 6" x 8 ¾", gray boards with dark red and gold design and lettering,
dust jacket, illustrated.
