Literary Science is a Farce

I recently got in an argument with a friend over the nature of
literary science (in German, Literatur Wissenschaft). I, of course,
maintained that such a thing doesn't exist. And, in the name of truth
and wisdom, I've enumerated my arguments against the notion of
literary science. What I'm looking for now are other people's
opinions. Of course, I'd prefer that you concur, but, hey, any
opinion will do.
