Lost Era Series of Books

Hi everyone,
sorry bout the ignorant question - some of you have mentioned the Lost Era
series of books that are coming.
Would someone let me know what this series is likely to be about and how
many are in the series? will it have the major players in them (Kirk, Spock,
Sulu, Scottie, McKoy, Picard etc etc ) or have stories about other crew
members?

The Lost Era books are set in the years between Captain Kirk's death and
the launching of the Enterprise-D. The first book features Capt. Sulu,
Chekov, Rand, Chaple and Tuvok on the USS Excelsior. You can find out
