These six vintage textbooks will give you an idea of what children were
studying back in the late 1930s - mid 1940s. There's a variety here, from
health to science to arithmetic to reading. See below for titles,
publication dates, and conditions:
a.. More Times and Places - The New Basic Readers Curriculum Foundation
Series. (1955) 4th grade. Pencil scribbles inside front cover. Covering on
the spine is partially torn off.
b.. You - a Health and Personal Development text. (1948) Names written in
pen and pencil inside front and back covers. Edges of hardback cover worn.
c.. Arithmetic for Young America - Grade 3 text. (1944) Name and address
written inside front cover and the "times" table 1 - 5 written in pencil
inside the back cover. A few problems worked in pencil throughout the book.
d.. Winter Comes and Goes - The Scientific Living Series. (1938) The How
and Why Science books. Name and scribbles in pencil inside front cover.
e.. Our Good Health - The American Health Series. (1942) Probably first
grade. Name written in pencil inside front cover. Beautiful full color
photographs - one cut out of a page.
f.. The Seasons Pass - The Scientific Living Series. (1938) The How and
Why Science books. Name and address in pencil inside front cover, back, and
on edge of pages.
Unless otherwise noted above, the condition of these books is very good
considering their age. Inside pages are in good shape, though obviously
handled by many little fingers. The covers are showing a bit of wear on the
edges and corners, but the binding is in *excellent* shape. All of the
books feature beautiful drawings or photographs.
This is a great buy and a great find! Please check out my other auctions -
I'm offering other old children's books and I do combine shipping.
