Good literature reflects its era. "Elizabeth Bowen: New Critical
Perspectives" discusses the work of Elizabeth Bowen, who many literary
critics now discuss and rate highly, among other twentieth century
literary great Samuel Beckett. Discussing her work in novels, stories,
sensationalism, and on the concepts of modernity in the tumultuous
twentieth century, "Elizabeth Bowne" is crafted by many modern
literary critics and presents a scholarly and very highly recommended
addition for community and college literary studies collections.

What lies in our end times? "Apocalyptic Futures: Marked Bodies and
the Violence of the Text in Kafka, Conrad, and Coetzee" delves into
the literary works of those who have stared into the future and
prophesied in their own ways the end times. Russell Samolsky
investigates these many claims of the end through the works of many
great authors of history, he draws connections to these stories and
the cruelty of today's world, and presents that Kafka and his ilk may
have been closer than what we'd like to believe. "Apocalyptic Futures"
is a fine pick, and much recommended reading for literary studies
collections.
