Isn't it time we abolished nuclear weapons? After all, our original reasons for

You'll get no argument from ME! (Hell, I NEVER thought the existence of
the Soviet Union was a good reason for nukes anyway!) When you're able
to persuade both Bush & Putin to actually go and do the deed, let me
know. I'm not holding my breath.

The alien invaders are very happy to see people like you. When we
have removed the only weapons that would be effective against their
starships, then they will land.

No, the woozles WORK with the heffalumps. Heffalump or woozle is very
confuzle, though.

Well, sure, but I was thinking specifically of the environmentalist

The character was obviously not sane during that rant, either. It was
pretty clearly a reaction to over-pressure situations.

We know that the Martians were brought down by disease; did Mr. Wells
balk at telling us it was _sexually_ _transmitted_ disease?

Forget about star ships. The debate goes on. My father came home from the
horrendous Pacific Theatre in WWII because of the Bombs. I think it was
terrible to unleash such destruction into the world, but a case can be made
that such helped end WWII and further the end of the Cold War.
That nukes are now in the hands of people we don't want to have them is
another thing entirely. But did anyone think that the genii could be put
back in the bottle?
