Is he not aware that he keeps repeating the same stories/ideas over and
over again in his books? It seems like at least 80% of the new book has
appeared in slightly altered form in his other books. The book was
worth the price, Vonnegut is on my short list of authors that I'll buy
whatever they publish, but it's disappointing. It seems like he and his
editor are just willing to forsake his fan base and just hope it will
catch on with new readers who don't know any of his previous work

Thanks for posting these comments. I was considering buying this book,
but once you told me it was short, full of his quaint drawings, and a
rehash of his past rehashes, I think I'll skip it. Vonnegut is really
on intellectual life support.

I think the book was largely designed and promoted to new readers. And
in fact his going on shows like The Daily Show etc. did help gain him
a lot of new fans with this book.

I haven't read it yet precisely because I gathered that it has a lot
of stuff I've already read and a lot of ideas he's already presented
before. However I will borrow it from the library or pick up a used
paperback of it some day.

I think by the time you get to be K's age, you don't necessarily have
a whole lot of new ideas. Cut the guy a break, he's given us a lot,
and he's STILL reaching new readers with his new book.

"If this isn't nice, what is?"

IYKWIM = "if you know what I mean"

I had to figure it out, too.
