Pat,
I did not know David Weber had that background but thanks for the info.
I would have thought that he had some kind of distance map to keep huis head
straight when going places.
I realize that the travel times vary but, from what I read, although the
elements that you mention do alter the time, the absolute distance does make
a difference i.e. Take the distance then add your variables.

Thanks, I looked at the site and it is great. However, I do not speak any
German so can not work out how to ask the author for the underlying data.
