Hi,

I could almost not believe it when I looked this up in the appendix
and found nothing! It is used quite often:
Finwe, Curufinwe, Olwe, Elwe, Manwe, etc.
What does it mean?? Sad

Hmm weird... so does that mean Finwe is "person with hair" or "hair
person" ?? And Curufinwe would be "skilled person with hair"? I
don't get it.. heh Razz what's with the Noldor and hair... Finwe,
Fingolfin, Finarfin, Finrod, Fingon, Curufinwe, Curufin... is it some
kind of subtle joke? heh Smile

There were two different roots that _fin_ developed from: _spin_ meaning
'hair' or 'tress', and _phin_ meaning 'skill' or 'nimbleness'.
