I'm sure Reggie will be immensely relieved to hear this, but nowhere in
my earlier message in this thread did I even hint that I believed such
to be the case.

You obviously haven't been keeping up with current events. I already
did.

I don't think I even mentioned your Web site in my previous message. Ah
well, I've noticed that you're not exactly a "detail" kind of guy when
it comes to these Usenet fracases. And I would personally disagree with
the characterization of your eBay text as "controversial"; I prefer the
term "nonsensical". But, of course, that was never really the point of
my earlier message. Once again, you need to do a better job of paying
attention, Chris.

At last we come to the central (and only) issue of my earlier post. You
shrilly and indignantly accuse James Doig of drawing Reggie Oliver into
this dispute, yet (as I stated before) **you** made Mr. Oliver the
focal point when you initiated the Oliver thread ("Christmas Charity
Sale - Rare Reggie Oliver Items - Books & Artwork"). And as Lesmond so
cogently pointed out, you've now taken the additional step of
advocating that forum members take it upon themselves to contact Mr.
Oliver for further information about this ridiculous squabble!! If
that's not drawing someone into an argument, I don't know what the heck
is.

You know, I have absolutely no clue what you mean when you employ the
term "objective", Chris, but based upon this response and your previous
ones, I can only assume that an objective opinion is one which blindly
apes your own.

Yes, I've avoided remarking on this aspect of the your rather nasty
post. The fact is that I have absolutely no way of knowing the truth of
James' assertion (nor do I really care one way or another); and despite
the utter certainty with which you publicly brand James a liar, you
have no way of knowing either (unless you're some sort of omniscient
being).

Other than you, of course, I don't recall anyone in the newsgroup
touting my past opinions on matters ghostly or otherwise as either
valid or invalid. What was it you said just a few days ago to John? Oh,
yes: "Psychotic people often claim to speak for the majority." But rest
assured, Chris, I do not believe you to be psychotic -- an egotistical
weasel, yes -- psychotic, no.

Please see above.
Yrs,
Michael
