Of course! The Paris Review!! Dame Laura has written me to say
that there was indeed a Frayn/Peacock connection and I could
read about it and lots of other Good Stuff in an Interview with
Frayn by Shusha Guppy, London Editor of the ever excellent Paris
Review. The article can be read at:

<http://www.theparisreview.com/tpr168/frayn.html>

The editor's name reminds me of a short, sad but informative poem:

"Cats have Kittens
Dogs have Puppies
But Guppies just have Little Guppies"

Fido. RAB watchdog and currently re-reading Julian Barnes'
incredibly good collection of Short Stories: *CROSS CHANNEL*.

Post ille. Dame Laura would have posted the URL herself but
posting from her office runs counter to the Rules of Engagement
of her University, Oxford Brookes, where she has just received
Tenure.

More accurately, Ogden Nash's verse reads thus::

Whales have calves,
Cats have kittens,
Bears have cubs,
Bats have bittens,
Swans have cygnets,
Seals have puppies,
But guppies just have little guppies.

Just finished "The Lemon Table", his latest collection. Some bitter
sweet stuff about getting old. Rather fine, I thought.

Thanks for the publicity, Fido. I could put you in charge of my press
cuttings too, if you like.
