If you use a Mac and run OS X, you may know about iPulse, a program that
lets you monitor what you computer is doing via a colorful, symbolic,
icon-like interface.

For LOTR fans, there are three interfaces with ties to Tolkien, two that
are like the Palantir and one called Goblin.

I have no connection to the iPulse folks, but I do find iPulse a clever
illustration of how the old (LOTR) and new (Macs) can be blended
artistically.
