Yes, it would have taken a lot of effort to do so but it presumably
provided non-book-readers with a bit of (non-Tolkienian) tension: they
were probably as convinced as Frodo that the Ring had been taken and
sent to Sauron.

Gollum's a terminator. That is why he does not show pain or fear when
he falls into the lava at the end. He always comes back, unless
melted.

Well, there you are: apparently PJ's Aragorn /is not an honorable

Well, it could also mean that as far as PJ is
concerned, killing an unarmed enemy in the middle
of parley, IS a honorable thing to do, if the
enemy is repulsive enough...

The next Hobbit movie... - My guess is The Hobbit is a text with which the eventual director (Jackson, one presumes) could / should take more liberties since the work is not as mature as LoTR. Thoughts?
