She should have come to America and taken it from a library here. With all
the bible bangers running around trying to get books banned and such, it
would comfort me to know that some of the library books out and about were
actually in good hands.

I stumbled into this Usenet group while searching for information as to
when your next book was to be published, and just had to drop you a
note. My wife came across your first book "The Magician" under its
re-released name of "The Magician's Apprentice" and we've been actively
searching out all your titles ever since. We both enjoy a wide variety
of books, but with in the realm of fantasy, you've rapidly became one
of our favorite authors (among Robin Hobb, Terry Brooks, and Terry
Brooks).

Thanks for the many hours of pleasurable reads, and we both look
forward to many more.

everything I've written is listed.

I've known Megan Lindholm (Robin Hobb) for years and she's a fine
writer. Met Terry Brooks years back when I started and he a fine
gentleman as well as being a good storyteller. I'm not sure who the
other Terry Brooks is, though.

meant to write Terry Goodkind, but what the heck, Terry Brooks is worth

Well, there's a character by that name in the sitcom Time GentleMen Please,
but I really doubt it's that one!

Just wanted to say I'm on reread of the Midkemia books myself - in the
middle of A Darkness At Sethanon. I'd forgotten most of the details of what
happened in the early books, but they still have the same grip that they had
20 years ago. (Hm, I was only 17 then - I'm probably getting even more out
of them now!)

I was amused, though, to see that on the edition I've got, the cover blurb
tells of Pug and Tomas' search for "Marcos" the Black... It makes him sound
like a Mafia lawyer...

the Darkwar Sage called "The unrefusable offer." where they find out that
Pug really is the son of Don Marcos, prime crimelord of whole Midkemia.

Did you have to pay a fine?

I stole a library book once, when I lived in Prague in the early 80s. It
was "The Whale" by J Y Cousteau, I was a big fan of his and of whales and
you couldn't buy the book anywhere in those days. But I said I'd lost it
and I paid the going price, so I guess I only kind of stole it?
