The version as broadcast had much looser links to the concept.
The original pitch was that Adam would be Adam Xero (He was eventually
revealed to have the surname Kane), and the team would all have costumes and
codenames; There would be one of each of the four major mutant groups they
identified;
Brennan - Elemental - "Fuse"
Emma - Psionic - "Rapport"
Shalimar - Feral - "Shadowfox"
Jesse - Molecular - "Synergy" (Based on his originally planned power of
being able to split into three versions of himself, each with an different
outlook, rather than the tangibility power he ended up with)
They dropped the codenames and costumes before filming (Though Forbes March,
who played Jesse, did mention that when he audtioned he had play a scene
between the three different versions of himself, which sounds like it would
have been HELL) (Though they all had a penchant for somewhat outré clothing,
and with a cast that pretty (for both genders), why not?)<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
