Hello,

Just wondering if R.E.F has ever been to NYC (or Long Island for that
matter) for a book signing or public appearance? If not there are a few
conventions that I am sure he would fit in at. The Icon Show at Stonybrook
University would be a great venue...

I am sure that one day I will get to meet the man, even if I do have to
travel across the globe.

I have been to NYC many times in my life. I've done signings at the
old B. Daltons on Fifth in the Tishman Building, said store now a
distant memory. I've also done signings at Forbidden Planet, and a
Borders over on Wall Street, and in Brooklyn, and Queens. As for Long
Island, I've done two signings at The Book Rack in Hundington.

I don't do conventions any more.

Best, R.E.F.

I don't know about NYC, thats still too far away for me. Any chance of a
visit to South Africa? There is quite a large number of Feist fans in Cape
Town. Maybe not as many as in the US or UK cities, but a decent number
nonetheless. . The University of Cape Town has two fantasy societies - The
Tolkien society (fans of all scifi and fantasy) and the Cape Legion of
Adventurers and Wargamers (CLAW). There were thousands of people lining up
for Terry Pratchett when he visited Cape Town and I reckon R.E.F. would draw
a bigger crowd.

So Mr Feist, would you consider visiting one of the most beautiful cities in
the world and signing some books?
Please? It's a lot like San Diego in some ways

Have you ever been to SA before? I only ask because the Free Cities of Natal
and the city of Durbin seem to be allusions to the South African province of
Natal (now known as KwaZulu Natal) and the city Durban)?

I'd love to visit South Africa. But I have no control over where
HarperCollins sends me. Your best bet is to start with your local BIG
retailer, i.e. the one who buys enough books from HarperCollins to make
them listen. I could do a visit the next time I'm Downunder, flying
from Perth to Cape Town, or the next time I'm in London.

Best, R.E.F.
