what ever became of JB aka Janice Brown, the last of Neal Cassady's
girl friend?. Has she ever surfaced? She would certainly be a source of
info for the stormy last years of Neal.

Wow, that is a good question. Never have heard another word about her
and she was his last live-in girlfriend in San Miguel and handled his
cremation. Never have seen even a picture.

Yes. It seems that she no longer existed in the Neal story right after
he died. Don't remember her being mentioned again by Kesey, etc.

Also, what really became of Bradley Hodgeman? I read somewhere that he
passed away years ago. Maybe Dave Moore mentioned it?

In "The Holy Goof", Plummer mentions the friend (unnamed) who was a
tennis player who was then living a vegetable like existence in
Michigan. That was prpbably Hodgeman I assume.

Also, what is the story of "Gypsy", the Hells Angel who took off on a
ride with Neal and is mentioned in that long 1965 letter that NEal
wrote about the trip?

Bradley Hodgman was a Stanford University tennis star. He graduated in 1966,
and died at age 49.

Real name Don Snyder. A good friend of Neal's in the 1960s.

Don Snyder was author of: "Aquarian Odyssey: A Photographic Trip Into The
Sixties" (1979) -- A collection of over 250 colour photographs including
shots of Haight-Ashbury, light shows, Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin,
Millbrook, head shops, The Fugs and the Living Theatre, skinny-dipping
hippies.

MP50 DeleteThis @angelfire.com asks:

"what ever became of JB aka Janice Brown, the last of Neal Cassady's
girl friend?. Has she ever surfaced? She would certainly be a source of
info for the stormy last years of Neal."

Is this the lady who ushered the Neal Cassady ashes back into the country
from San Miguel? The last I remember about that one is the first: she was
recalled by Carolyn Cassady in that 1972 Rolling Stone article about Neal
and his passing. A friend drove Carolyn to the parking lot where they were
supposed to meet with JB and the ashes, and there was this dippy hippy chick
just sitting there when they drove in, and they circled the lot a time or
two, then came back to the entrance, and JB said, "I knew you'd be back."

Apparently Janice Brown took exception to her portrait in that article. Sent
Carolyn a letter, warning: "Remember, you are liable."

Nothing ever came of it. Generally, nothing ever comes of anything.
