Neil Young --- booksigning for "Greendale"
Tuesday, December 14th at 6 pm
at The Booksmith (1644 Haight Street in San Francisco)
Acclaimed singer/songwriter Neil Young will be signing copies of his
new book, "Greendale," at The Booksmith on Tuesday, December 14th at 6
pm. This is Neil Young's only scheduled book signing. Neil Young will
be joined by James Mazzeo, illustrator of this just released book.
In "Greendale", musician Neil Young has masterfully blended his
activist bent with a poetic perversity and the irresistible musical
hooks that have made him a legend. Joining the previously released
music CD of the same name, the elaborately-staged concerts, the movie,
and the DVD, this just published book provides a satisfying literary
and visual complement to the multimedia masterpiece that is Neil
Young's Greendale.
Neil Young is one of the seminal performers in the history of popular
music. His career as a solo performer is legendary. His body of work
includes the classic albums After the Gold Rush, Harvest, Rust Never
Sleeps and Freedom. He has continued writing and performing new and
groundbreaking music into his fourth decade as a recording artist.
James Mazzeo is a life-long painter and a veteran of the 60's
psychedelic era and rock 'n roll light show art world. His work is in
major art collections worldwide. Both young and Mazzeo reside in
California.

One of the first concerts I ever went to was Buffalo Springfield. Then
years later I saw Neil Young and Stephen Stills again when they were
in CSNY at Tampa Stadium. Stills went to high school in Tampa.
One of the best live performances I have ever seen on TV was Neil
Young and Pearl Jam doing "Keep on Rockin' in the Free World". They
kicked ass! And after the performance, Pearl Jam destroyed their
equipment on stage.
