All,
A few things about Captain's Blood, the newest book in the Shatnerverse
series. This book was built on the events in Nemesis and brought the
generations (Kirk, McCoy and Scotty) together with Picard and company.
In reading the book you could hardly tell that Scotty, or Beverly Crusher
were there at all except that their names were mentioned.
Usually the Reeves-Stevens's destroy an Enterprise but since the 1701E
was in spacedock being repaired they couldn't do that, so what did they
do? They killed Spock, twice. Once at the beginning and again at the end.
At that point, the story just didn't work and the ending left me cold.
In fact the only book of the series that the story really did work was
Star Trek: The Return. After The Return, Shatner should have ended
on a high note.
And that's my good reason.
