I've read Flight of the Nighthawks (now some time ago) and while
reading this, I began wondering why nobody thought of consulting the
Oracle of Aal? By now she should have finished her rebirthing-state
already, at least by my calculations. (Couldn't remember when it began,
but since Eric is already in his eighties and it was supposed to take
20 yrs or so...)

Perhaps she has some valuable pointers for our happy heroes, who don't
seem to be having a clue what to do with our new threat...

Whil she even return in the series, I wonder...

Either it will be adressed in the upcoming books or Ray has forgotten about
the Oracle. The midkemia universe is getting very big and complicated. Even
for the writer itself?

I seriously doubt Ray has forgotten about anything to do with Midkemia. The
Oracle still resides under Sethanon yes? LOL, I may have forgotten a bit
here and there but I'll bet you dollars to dimes Ray hasn't.

I was thinking the characters where choosing not to consult her as
that is a path to rely on the words of an oracle. Her best ability is
to inform them of possible futures but her own interpretation can
cloud the outcome. Remember hindsight is 20/20.

With the Conclave's connection with Sarig. They (more like Pug) have
received Marcos the Black former ability of Sarig's future sight.
Seeing the future through the eyes of the a god is a little more
powerful then hearing about it from second hand through the mouth of a
oracle.

Well, considering they're getting letters from the future posted back
to them, from themselves, I'm not sure any sort of second sight on
their part is needed.

I can't actually remember anything really about the Oracle, so can't
comment on why they wouldn't go see it. About all I do recall is that
there was a bunch of hand maiden/acolytes types around, and she ended
up transferring into a dragon's body didn't she?

Well I haven't read the latest book or are referring to the message
Pug left to the Priest at Sarth about the coming danger in Serpent war
series? I can't remember the book off hand but I think it was in
RoaMP.

What if Future Pug included news of a unavoidable or necessary death of
Miranda?

This seems plausible in light of the price that Pug would have to pay if he
accepted becoming Macros' replacement. Though (also from memory) he refused
that offer.

As for Ray, I assume (with a new book out) that he's doing promotional
touring, and hence is not able to keep up with the group as often, if at
all..

I just assumed it was cause he though Miranda might get jealous that he
could travel through time where she couldn't
