For 'Republican families' in line three read 'Republican Party'.

I will consider it when I make my first 50 billion dollars or so.

Oh by the way, Bill Gates is the most obvious alternative to the
Bushes, as things now stand. One wonders why the Democrats don't
recruit him.

We have entered a new age of the Caesars, with fortunes so vast that
any real democracy is out of the question. We have already had the
Brothers Gracchi (the Kennedys) - who will play Marius, Sulla, Caesar,
Antony and Octavian?

Personally I doubt that the Bushes will hold on to power for very long,
for they lack any popular base other than the fundamentalists of the
South, and these people are anathema to the ruling elites. If Bush were
smart he would tack to the populist left in public, while cutting deals
with the leading Democratic power centres, and would be unchallenged
and unchallengeable dictator within a year or two. His most dangerous
enemies are not the Democrats after all, but the rival rich families
within the Republican Party.
