Archived from groups: alt>books>robert-rankin (more info?)

I was going to make the title "Prodigal Son returns" but this title
track from the Blade Runner soundtrack sounded more biting.

I've just checked to see what my very last post this group was and it
was dated 15th October 2000! and said..."Stick it up your arse you
spamming turd with wings!!" Wink

But I decided to stick my fat head back around the door frame and offer
my unwelcome two peneth worth..

What made me return was not Wobert Wankin himself, but Flann O'Brien. I
remember an early association made in the quotes on a RR cover, but I
recently picked up and started reading "The Third Policeman" and how can
I describe it? Left-field? Nutty? Whacko?? Fruitloop???

I can see why the person who made the association did so, because both
wax lyrically and write very poetically, but I get the feeling that the
obvious association is made by the similarity that where RR often refers
to Hugo Rune, Mr. O'Brien quotes fictional "de Selby" (or is he?

I have to say that I'm puzzled as to where my head should be at, but I'm
tentatively enjoying the ride.
