I couldn't agree more. I still do not understand how AR allowed this
story to get chopped this way I like to think that the death of Aaliyah
had a lot to do with how the movie turned out, since she died before
they were done filming her parts...

Nonetheless, after reading the book, I can't see what would have been
much different had Aaliyah been around for the remainder of the
filming. So much crucial information was distorted. After I read the
book Akasha seemed more like a desperate misguided soul looking to make
her place in the world...rather than some evil being bent on the
destruction of everything good. In the movie she is so power hungry
that you do not see or feel the intimacy her and Lestat share in the book.

Ok I am rambling now. =D

Actually, the film was completed before Aaliyah died. They used her
brother to dor some tweeking of her voice, but that's it. I don't think
the film could have been save by any one actor, it was bad right now to
the script.
Take care,
Ashe

The movie probly would have been a lot longer if they made it true to the
book. But it would have been great if they had. When I read QOTD I had the
impression that Aksha was white? Then I saw the movie and her skin was
dark. In the movie could her skin still have been bronzed from being put
in the sun? I just thought that was kinda weird.Bye for now,
Jesse

Queen of the Dammed - Hello, I was wondering if the book is better than the movie? I saw the movie and I really didn't like it... I want to read the movie, but I don't know if it's worth it or not (if it's the same one than the movie...) Thanks, Cathy
