Queen of the Dammed

The book is much better than the film in lots of ways as is usualy the way
...
then I went to see the film I felt like running out. The storey is not the
same and the acting is shit ..
I was so upseting as I had been waiting for the film to come out .
if you like annes books that one is the best.

I must say that the book is much better than the movie. Most people I know
who had read the book were very disappointed with the movie.

And although I think Queen of the Damned would be an enjoyable book to read
on its own, you really should read Interview with the Vampire (again, much
better than the movie) and The Vampire Lestat first.

What is all this vampire stuff about anyway?

I can't get into the Blood and Gold book, but then I'm not a reader.

What's the main theme here? Life, love, possesion. "mind gifts"?

If you want to "know and understand", you must read the books. Any
brief explanation offered here, will not give you the knowledge about
the books and stories.

I whole-heartedly agree with Byrd on this one. The only way to understand
the story is to read it for yourself. But, again I say, you really should
start from the beginning. Blood and Gold is one of the last books of the
series. The first books are very captivating, so even a person who doesn't
read much would enjoy them. Who knows, you might even getted hooked.

For me, it is as Rice stated once, "They are about us." The characters
are vampires, but they are dealing with issues that every human being
deals with.

The Queen of the Damned is the "Mother" of the vampires. The "Mother"
is the vampire who has Amel's "core" inside her. The vampire race is
dependent upon the "Mother" for its continued existance. If something
happens to her, then all vampires could be harmed or destroyed

Not damned anywhere, just damned. Some consider themeslves damned,
mainly, because they kill or have killed to survive.

The main theme is Marius's life story and all it encompasses: life,
love, passion, loss, danger, grief, betrayal etc.
