Hi,

Just leafing through this month's Fortean times and I spotted this at
the bottom of page 26:

"Mythchaser
Is it true that if you place an egg between two mobile phones, and call
one phone on the other, the egg will cook? Robert Rankin says so in one
of his novels - and he should know, he's mad."

cheers,
Dave

the answer is no, by the way.

I think you'll find his 'Brentford Griffin' lark also ended
up in Fortean Times.

I was knee high to Small Dave when I first heard about the Brentford
Griffon on the 6 O'clock show (I think it was). A quick google seems to
suggest it was all a joke by Rankin & friends, but I can't seem to find
any more concrete infomation.

Anyone know the full story? Has it ever been told?

cheers,
Dave

Did you see this?

It claims that the griffin story predates Rankin's efforts
by at least 10 years.
